Rapid Manufacturing using 3D Printing

3D Printing is generally associated with 3d printers that are low in price or, in capability. (Source: 3D printing - Wikipedia)

However, the terms 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing are still often synonymous in casual usage, but manufacturing industry experts make a distinction whereby Additive Manufacturing comprises industrial and serial production 3D printing, plus other technologies or other aspects of a manufacturing process such as automated post-processing of 3D printed components.

Other terms that have been used as synonyms include desktop manufacturing, rapid manufacturing — the logical production-level successor to rapid prototyping, and on-demand manufacturing.

We have a number of 3D printing articles and case studies below, where, rapid manufacturing has been employed in the manufacturing work-flow.
